CID=> It is a wingof State Police, it works as a Special Investigation Team, mainly deal with case which are sensitive in nature and sometimes high profile. CID has only state jurisdiction for Investigation.

CBI=> it is an Central Govt. premier Investigation agency. CBI has all India jurisdiction and deal with corruption cases, sensitive and high profile cases i.e., murder, kidnapping, bank frauds etc. referred by any govt either centre or state or referred by any higher court of India.
ACP & DSP => while the same officer is called as Deputy Superintendent of Police ( DSP), when posted in rural areas where Commissionerate of Police do not exist. However, Assistant Superintendent of Police is also called as ACP when posted in Commissionerate of Police.
